- Scope and ContentTo the Chairman of the Bench Sir, I am just writing this statement to say that I am very sorry for the offence, which I have committed, and from now to henceforth I am willing to steer an honest course. My correct name is Henry Byne and since I have been detained in Prison my parents have found out my whereabouts and it has grieved them very much to know where I am, and they have been writing to me to come back home and lead an honest career which I intend to do in future. I am taking the advice of my good parents who are willing to take me back home again to start a new life as I am at present only a young man and I don’t want to lead a criminal life any further as I can see my folly through the advice of my parents and want to give it up and bury the past. So I am asking, your Lordship kindly, to give me a chance. I am Sir, Yours Respectfully G. Collins
