London Road October 15th 1911 Sir, My son Henry Byne who is now in Bedford Prison will be brought before you on Wednesday next to be tried on a charge of stealing a bicycle. From the various letters he has written home I can see that he is sorry for his mistakes and wished to have chance of reforming and taking on honest life I am convinced of his sincerity, and would ask you, Sir, in consideration of his youth and the three months he has been approaching his trial to temper justice with mercy. I am willing and anxious that he should come home and his mother and I will see to his future welfare. I am Sir, Yours Obediently Quentin Byne
