'In the month of April last I was employed by Mr Willis of Biggleswade to thrash some wheat lying at Furzen Hall Farm in the said Parish and on Tuesday the twenty second of the said month of April having threashed and dress'd four loads and three bushels of the said Wheat and put the same into sacks I left them in the Barn on leaving my Work I lock'd up the Barn doors and took the key into the Farm house as usual on the following morning I return'd to my work and found the key of the barn in the same place in the house where I had hung it up but on going to the barn I found that during the night the doors had been broken open and one of the sacks of wheat taken away I immediately went and told my master and then went back to the barn - in the course of the afternoon Thomas Sims came with Mr Pope's waggon and fetch'd away the remaining three loads and three bushels which I had put up into sacks.'
