    I, Norman Greenshields A.M.I.C.E and Surveyor for the Borough of Bedford do solemnly and sincerely declare as follows: - (1) That I was present on the 31st day of March 1920 when two Justices of the County of Bedford, namely Rev. Paul Williams Wyatt, Clerk in Holy Orders and Frederick William Conquest Esq. and two Justices from the Borough of Bedford namely John Walton Carter Esq. and Henry Bacchus Esq. together and in the presence of each other viewed a certain ancient public highway partly in the Parish of Saint Cuthbert in the Borough of Bedford and as to the other parts in the Parish of Goldington in the County of Bedford. I then produced the plan of the said ancient public highway (marked N.G.1.) describing by metes, bounds and admeasurements thereof and which plan I now produce before the Justices aforesaid and do verify the same in regard to all the material particulars. (2) That in accordance with the directions given by the said four Justices on the view aforesaid I caused to be posted on the 1st. April 1920 and to be continuously maintained from the last mentioned date to the present for a full and complete term of four weeks, the notice now produced and marked N.G.2 at the place and by the side of each end of the said public highway proposed to be stopped up as being unnecessary and also by the side and end of every road where the same is crossed by the public. (3) The notice referred to was published and maintained in manner aforesaid at the places following: - (i) The Shrubbery, Newnham Avenue, East side and end of Ancient Highway. (ii) Opposite Sewage Pumping Station, Newnam Avenue, West side of the Ancient Highway. (iii) South east corner of Shaftesbury Avenue, North said of Ancient Highway. (iv) Opposite Shaftesbury Avenue, South side of Ancient Highway. (v) South east corner Bushmead Avenue, North side of Ancient Highway. (vi) Opposite Bushmead Avenue, South side of Ancient Highway. (vii) Opposite Rothsay Road, North side of Ancient Highway. (viii) Opposite Rothsay Road, South side of Ancient Highway. (ix) Opposite the Baulk, North side of Ancient Highway. (x) Opposite the Baulk, South side of Ancient Highway. (xi) South east corner, Albany Road, North side of Ancient Highway. (xii) Opposite Albany Road, South side of Ancient Highway. (xiii) In Newnham Road, North side of Ancient Highway. (xiv) Opposite Newnham Road, South side and end of Ancient Highway. And I make this solemn declaration sincerely believing the same to be true and by virtue of the Statutory Declarations Act 1835.
