    Borough of Luton, Be it remembered, That on the 15th day of July in the Year One Thousand Nine Hundred and eleven Mary Ann Elizabeth Mayne of 21 Hitchin Road, and John Jordan of Park Street and Arthur Cannon Smith of Police Station in the Borough of Luton, in the County of Bedford, personally came before me, one of His Majesty’s Justices of the Peace for the said Borough, acknowledged himself to own to our Sovereign Lord the King the sum of Ten Pounds each of good and lawful Money of Great Britain, to made and levied of their Goods and Chattels, Lands and Tenements, to the use of our said Lord the King his Heirs and Successors, if they the said Mary Ann Elizabeth Mayne, John Jordan, Arthur Cannon Smith shall fail in the condition indorsed. Taken and acknowledged the day and year above mentioned, at the Court House, Luton, before me. Signed W.R. Phillips One of His Majesty’s Justices of the Peace in and for the Borough of Luton. Rear of Document: The Condition of the within written Recognizance is such, that whereas Frank Kirkby was this day charged before the said Justice of the Peace on a charge of Felony. If therefore they said Mary Ann Elizabeth Mayne, John Jordan, Arthur Cannon Smith shall appear at the next Court of General Quarter Sessions of the Peace to be holden at the Shire Hall, Bedford in and for the County of Bedford, and there give such evidence as they know, upon a Bill of Indictment to be then and there preferred against the said Frank Kirkby for the Offence as also to the Jurors who shall pass upon the trial of the said Frank Kirby if the said Bill shall be found a true Bill, then the said Recognizance to be void, or else to stand in full force and virtue.
