    Examined copy Conditional Surrender out of Court for securing £85 and interest. Memorandum by Henry Garner of Biggleswade, harness maker, a customary or copyhold tenant of the manor, did, in consideration of £85 paid to him by William Larkins of Biggleswade, gent., surrender into the hands of the Lord of the Manor by the hands and acceptance of William Thomas Chapman and William Farrington, two other customary or copyhold tenants:

    a) cottage or tenement, yard, outbuildings and premises with appurtenances in Sun Street, as in Z 590/14(a): described here as formerly in the occupation of John Beaumont and now or late of Henry Garner. b) cottage as in Z 590/14 (b): described here as late in the occupation of Edward Fair, then of [ ] Hare and now John Leach. (...to which (a) Henry Garner was admitted tenant to him and his heirs at a court held on 5 May 1837 as devisee in fee named in the will of his late father Edmund Garner, deceased; and (b) Henry Garner was admitted at the same court on the decease of Jesse Rhodes who was a devisee for life under the will of Edmund Garner.) ...to the use and behoof of William Larkins, his heirs and assigns for ever according to the custom of the manor provided that if Henry Garner, his executors etc. shall pay to William Larkins, his executors etc. £85 with interest on 24 June next, then this surrender to be void. Note that the original surrender was written on a £1 10s. stamped sheet of paper of which this is a true copy. Receipt by Henry Garner witnessed by William Farrington and William Thomas Chapman Dorse: annotation in pencil, ‘Beaumont & [Hare] now Leach’.
