Recites: RH8/1-2; RH9/59 whereas: Elizabeth Vassall Dowager Lady Holland died 17 November 1845, Francis Duke of Bedford made will dated 7 May 1861 containing general devise of freehold and copyhold estates to ii) on trusts as therein declared. died 14 May 1861, will and 2 codicils proved at Principal Probate Registry 31 July 1861 Recites: Deed Poll 6 August 1861 by Lady Lilford income from said £2,000 to be paid by Earl of Carlisle and Frederick Dawes Danvers into hands of her daughter Adelaide Mary Powys for life and then the capital to be divided equally between the 2 sons of said Lady Lilford equally; but if Charles James Fox Powys should inherit before his sister’s death, premises worth per annum more than a moiety of the said £2,000 then the whole sum to go to Edward Victor Robert Powys. whereas: said 3 children were born in lifetime of late Lord Holland and are objects of the power given Lady Lilford by codicil to said will whereas: interest is paid to date; at request of i) and pursuant to trusts in will of late Duke of Bedford, ii) have paid £34..15..7 legacy duty on said £2,000 and other expenses of £26..9..8 totalling £26..9..8 which being deducted leaves £1938.. 14..9 which has been paid to said 3 children (Adelaide Mary, Edward Victor Robert and Charles James Fox Powys) now: i) release to ii) and said premises from said legacy of £2,000 signed: i) Witnesses: Caroline Powys and Constance A Powys both of 33 Great Cumberland Place, London Elizabeth G Powys of Yafforth House William Forster, 28 Lincolns Inn Fields
