    Parties (i) Martha Sutton formerly Martha Thompson, widow of John Thompson. (ii) Jane Kennedy, formerly Jane Thompson. Reciting: Death of (i) , late a customary tenant of the Manor, intestate on 18th Nov 1894. (i) died seised of a piece of ground near Crab Lane in Anchor End, Biggleswade with five cottages (one being an ancient cottage and four more recently erected by (i) ) to which (i) was admitted tenant 27th Apr 1866 (see Z 590/30). (i) became the wife of Joseph Sutton 5th March 1878. (ii) wife of Frederick Kennedy, 12 Grayling Road, Stoke Newington, Middlesex married on 20th August 1878. (ii) was the only child and heiress at law of (i) and John Thompson, also formerly a tenant of the said Manor. John Thompson died 11 October 1865. Operative part (ii) by her attorney Arthur Brookes prays to be admitted tenant to the following: a) All that piece of land situate near Crab Lane or Anchor Road in Biggleswade in length 41feet and in breadth 19 feet at the E.end and at the W. end 12 feet exclusive of a footpath five feet wide leading into Anchor Road. Bounded on the E. by a cottage and garden formerly of Edmund Garner, on the S. by land late of Mssrs Rudd and now of Messrs Spottiswoode & Stileman, on the W. by a yard and garden with cottages now standing thereon formerly of Cornelius Bennett and Robert Twelvetrees and now of Cornelius Bennett, and on the N.by the said footpath. b) Together with the five cottages standing thereon and together also with the right of way for (ii) and the owners and occupiers of the premises. c) Together with joint use of the well and privy belonging to the cottage and premises lately of Thomas Gale subject to a proportional part of the expense of keeping them in repair. (i) was admitted tenant to the above on 27 Apr 1866 (see Z 590/30). The Lord of the Manor grants by the Rod to (ii) by copy Court Roll Rent: 1d. Fine: 1/3d.
