- Scope and ContentAsks George to thank Mrs Askew [Isabel Julia Askew] for sending the Victoria newspapers to him and asks Mrs Askew to send him a letter giving an account of domestic life in Chemainus. Asks for information about George and Mrs Askew's baby son [Charles Searle] after seeing the birth notice - has passed on this information to George's family in Odell. Has spoken to Mr Cory, who is the architect of a school that he [Charles] is building in the village. Mr Cory has received several letters from his son who emigrated to Vancouver Island and speaks kindly of George. Is going to be leaving Stonham to return to Pembroke College, Cambridge and asks that George address his letters there.
