- TitleLetter from Reverend Charles Edward Searle to George Thomas Askew. Sent from E [Earl] Stonham Rectory, Suffolk
- Date free text13 March 1869
- Production dateFrom: 1869 To: 1869
- Scope and ContentTells George that the deliverer of his current letter is Mr [John] Cory, who George has already heard about, and a companion [possibly Mr Lapidge as mentioned in FAC152/1/20] and asks that George direct them to some work. Mr Cory is a decent man but better with a pencil than an axe. Mr Cory's father is an architect and he [Mr Cory] can draw well. Has asked Mr Cory as a reward for introcuding him to George to provide him [Charles] with a sketch of the George's mill and house and design the church of St George Chaminus. Is hoping to visit Odell after Easter and stay with the rector [William Cornish Hunt] and his bride.
