    i) Right Honourable John Lord Ashburnham, Baron of Ashburnham, Sussex, son and heir of Right Honourable John late Lord Ashburnham deceased and brother and executor of last will of Right Honourable William late Lord Ashburnham deceased, who was executor of said John late Lord Ashburnham deceased ii) Honourable Bertram Ashburnham esquire, brother of i) Recites:RO1/18-19 Recites: Indenture 22 July 1680 (i) John Ashburnham of Ashburnham, Sussex, esquire and wife Bridget, only daughter and heir of Walter Vaughan late of Penby, Carmarthen esquire, and granddaughter and heir of Frederick Vaughan of New Sarum, clerk (ii) Richard Bayley esquire and by fines levied in pursuance thereof settled premises in Carmarthen, Glamorgan and Brecon worth £1,000 per annum to use of Bridget with remainder to first and other sons in tail male i) and said Bridget have barred entail by Recovery declared to be to use of said Bridget for life whereas: said Bridget who is now dead, in lifetime joined with i) in mortgage of all premises in Wales to William Sloper esquire for securing £6,000 principal, and also charged said premises with annuity of £700 to ii), and i) since death of Bridget charged said premises with a further £10,000 principal to said William Sloper, which sums are still due; annuity is also charged on premises in Bedfordshire Recites: RO1/21-24 whereas: Taking and settling account of personal estate of late Lord John will be tedious and expensive whereas: i) is endebted to his sister Mrs Elizabeth Hayes in £3,500 and to the children of – Barnewell, clerk in £3,000 now: for settling estates of John late Lord Ashburnham i) and ii) agree that i) will obtain settlement of estate of John late Lord Ashburnham in Bedfordshire and Sussex pursuant to marriage articles of late Lord William and will also make conveyance of estate in Bedfordshire and Sussex being estate of late Lord John, of Ursula Taylor and those purchased by i) except: -Ampthill Great Park now in occupation of i), estimated to be worth £250 per annum -farm and lands near said Park in occupation of Laurence Cripse at rent of £203 per annum -farm and lands near said Park in occupation of Richard Impys at rent of £53 per annum -farm and lands near said Park in occupation of John Circuit at rent of £39 per annum -close of meadow or pasture near said Park in occupation of William Peele at rent of £20 per annum -close of meadow or pasture near said Park in occupation of William White at rent of £20 per annum -close of meadow or pasture near said Park in occupation of i) and lately in occupation of Captain Roberts at rent of £10 per annum all which excepted premises are in Ampthill, Millbrook and Houghton -Brockborough alias Brogborough Park in possession of John Knight and Robert Dell at rent of £450 per annum -Beckerings Park in occupation of John Denbigh and Adam Bevan at rent of £320 per annum all which last excepted premises are in Lidlington and Ridgmont which are by this agreement intended to be sold by i) and the money applied to discharge said £16,000 due to Mr Sloper on estate in Wales and said several sums of £3,500 and £3,000 subject to life estate of said Ursula Taylor and the £20,000 fortune of Henrietta Bridget Ashburnham, infant, upon uses as declared in will of late Lord John, except power of John Lord Ashburnham to charge £6,000 thereon that i) will convey aforesaid excepted land and apply the profits as abovesaid that i) will convey estates in Wales (subject to said £700 annuity and to said mortgage which is intended to be discharged) to i) for life with remainder to 1st and successive sons in tail male subject to revocation if i) survive ii) or if i) predecease ii) leaving no male issue that i) will discharge premises of £10,000 portion left to him by will of late Lord John and also from the £6,000 he was empowered to charge on the real estate ii) will join in sale of Bedfordshire lands signature: ii) Witnesses: Richard Young, Dennis Brien copy examined by G Boucher and R Pigott
