    Ursula Taylor will pay John Lord Ashburnham £6,000 in part of portion of Katherine or else £3,700 and convey to him the lands hereinafter mentioned whereas: said Ursula is seised of lands in Marston Peelinge, Millbrook and Wootton, value £70 per annum and of lands in Clapham which she purchased of trustees and executors of Sir William Franklin deceased worth £30 per annum, making together £100 per annum which John Lord Ashburnham is willing to take in satisfaction of £2,300 part of the said £6,000. Ursula covenants to convey premises to John Lord Ashburnham and agrees that if marriage takes Place, in 3 months after Katherine attains 21, she and her daughter will make conveyance of lands etc. of Thomas Taylor late deceased (except that mentioned above) to following uses: -premises of value of £489..16..10 per annum to use of John Lord Ashburnham and his heirs -reversion of premises now in jointure to said Ursula value £400..9..0 per annum to use of William Ashburnham for life, then to use of Katherine for life, then in tail male Ursula agrees that if Katherine attain 21 years and conveyance as aforesaid is made, she will give security for payment of £1,000 in full of the portion of said Katherine Upon conveyance of premises worth £489..16..10 per annum and £400..9..0 per annum John Lord Ashburnham will convey estate worth £5,000 per annum in Sussex, Bedfordshire and Wales, chargeable with annuity of £1,000 to Right Honourable Bridgett Lady Ashburnham wife of said John Lord Ashburnham after his death, on following uses: -£2,000 per annum in Sussex and the mansion house there to use of William Ashburnham for life then: -£1,800 per annum (part of said £2,000) to use of Katherine for life if she survive William for her jointure, then in tail male [further details of the trusts are given...] signatures: i) ii) Witnesses: Alexander Leith, William Quarles, William Ekins Copy examined 3 December 1725 by Ralph Pigott and Richard Whitborne
