  • Scope and Content
    This is supplemental to documents in 1st schedule, by which documents in 1st part of 2nd schedule are vested in i) by way of mortgage to secure repayment of £1400 and interest at £4 5s %. It is also supplemental to documents in 2nd part of 1st schedule whereby hereditaments described in said 1st part and in 4th part of 2nd schedule are vested in ii) by way of nortgage to secure repayment of £1350 and interest at £4 10s %. It is also supplemental to documents in 3rd part of 1st schedule whereby property in 1st part of 2nd schedule is vested in iii) by way of mortgage to secure repayment of £350 and interesat at 5%. It is also supplemental to documents in 4th part of 1st schedule whereby property described in 2nd part of 2nd schedule is vested in iii) by way of mortgage to secure repayment of £350 and interest at £4 10s %. It is also suipplemental to indenture in 5th part of 1st schedule whereby properties in 2nd part of 2nd schedule are vested in iv) by way of mortgage to secure repayment of £300 and interest at £% [sic]. It is also supplemental to post-nuptual settlement [LS786] On 15 December 1883 Frederick William Usher surrendered by John Usher and E T Leeds Smith such properties in 2nd schedule as are copyhold. Said sums are still owing. Now in consideration of payment by E A Card and C E Rutter of: - £1400 to i) secured by documents in 1st part of 1st schedule - £1350 to ii) secured by documents in 2nd part of 1st schedule - £350 to iii) secured by documents in 3rd part of 1st schedule - £350 to iii) secured by documents in 4th part of 1st schedule - £300 to iv) secured by documents in 5th part of 1st schedule - further £1750 (total £5500) i), ii), iii), iv) and v) confirm to vi): premises in 2nd schedule as are freehold or leasehold; interest on total sum - 5%, reduced to 4% if paid promptly; covenant to surrender copyhold properrty; buildings to be insured for £3000. Schedule Mainly relates to property in LS780 and LS784, but refers to many extra deeds. Also refers in 3rd part of 2nd schedule to: - 4 cottages in Blunham, formerly parish workhouse - 20½ poles land (as in part 1 of schedule 1 of LS786) Signatrues of all except E A Card. Various witnesses. Endorsed memorandum: By deed of 7 November 1901 between a) John Usher and E T Leeds Smith; b) E A Card and C E Rutter; c) Florence Caroline Tuppen, The Orchard, Blunham, wife of Claud Ernest Tuppen, properties in 1st and 3rd parts of 2nd schedule were in consideration of £3500 (£3200 to b) in part payment of said £5500 and interest, and £300 to a)) conveyed to c) freed from said mortgage debt of £5500 [ie The Orchard and various pieces of freehold and copyhold land in Blunham, and also the former parish poorhouse and 20½ poles land]. Also endorsed receipt of above £3200 and also a further £700 on 28 November 1906.
