    Homage presentments That Sarah, wife of Jeremiah Rosher, late a customary tenant of the manor, in her lifetime held to her and her heirs of the Lord of the Manor by copy of Court Roll, fealty, suit of court and the rents and services due and of right accustomed, an undivided moiety or half part of and in: (a) farm yard and close of pasture then or late in the occupation of Samuel Wells. (b) close of arable land in Biggleswade commonly called Rye Close containing 1 acre formerly purchased of Edward Rudd by copy of Court Roll, fealty, suit of court and yearly rent of 1s.(marginal note records that this close was sold and assured to the Biggleswade School Board, 16 Oct 1874) (c) 13 acres of arable land, leys and sward ground lying dispersedly in the common fields of Biggleswade by copy of court roll, fealty, suit of court and the yearly rent by apportionment of 4s 4d. (d) piece or parcel of arable land in Town Field, Biggleswade containing 6 acres O roods 3 perches exclusive of the road crossing the same, commonly called Christy’s Piece or Stanley Piece, by copy of Court Roll, fealty, suit of court and the yearly rent by apportionment of 1s 1/3d. To which moiety and premises (amongst others) Sarah Rosher was admitted tenant to her and her heirs according to the custom of the manor at a special court held in and for the said manor on 10 Nov 1830 under the will of her late aunt Elizabeth Winn, deceased. (e) piece or parcel of arable land in Hitch Mead, Biggleswade in a place called Reeves Hitch Furlong containing 4 acres 1 rood 32 perches abutting in part on the lands late of Edward Rudd and then or late of John Foster and E. an Hitch Mead Furlong, formerly in the occupation of John Steward and the or late of Messrs. Hogg & Lindsell. (f) piece or parcel of arable land called Craen’s Piece or Crane’s Piece lying in the town fields in Biggleswade on the North side of Crab Lane containing 4 acres 2 roods 30 perches formerly in the occupation of Edward Rudd, since of John Sarum, his tenants or assigns, and afterwards of John Steward and then or late of Messrs Hogg & Lindsell. To which Sarah Rosher lately died seised of the moiety or half part of and in (a - f) and that Jeremiah Burch Rosher of Trewyn House near Abergavenny (Monmouthshire) esq. was the eldest son and heir of Sarah Rosher. Operative Part Admission of Jeremiah Burch Rosher by his attorney William Wells Gardner, gent., to the undivided moiety and premises whereof his mother died seised. Habendum with appurtenances to Jeremiah Burch Rosher in customary fee simple, of the Lord of the Manor, at the will of the Lord, according to the custom of the Manor by copy of Court Roll, fealty, suit of court etc. Rents: 6d., 2s.2d., 1s.1/3d., and 71/3d. - Will of Jeremiah Burch Rosher in which, after making certain specific bequests and devises not the subject of this title, he devised: 26 Nov 1872 (g) all his manor commonly called the Trewyn Manor and all other his real estate to his son Jeremiah Lilburn Rosher, his heirs etc., according to the tenure thereof respectively [a marginal note records that by this devise the undivided moiety in the two freehold pieces of land called Great Simon’s and Little Simon’s, containing respectively 6 acres 0 roods 35 perches and 4 acres 3 roods, 10 perches, passed to Jeremiah Lilburn Rosher]; and appointed his wife Lucia Anne Maria Rosher and his son Jeremiah Lilburn Rosher trustees and executors. - Death of Jeremiah Burch Rosher. 26 Nov 1874 Probate of the will of Jeremiah Burch Rosher in Hereford District Registry by both executors. 21 Jan 1875 - Admittance Out of Court at the office of and by and before Samuel Day at St. Neots (Hunts.), gent., steward [of the Manor of Biggleswade]. 21 Oct 1878 Presentment by the Steward of the death of Jeremiah Burch Rosher, late a copyholder or customary tenant of the manor and an official copy of his will (abstracted as above). Admission of Jeremiah Lilburn Rosher, being present by his attorney Daniel Sewell, tenant to the premises devised to him and of which Jeremiah Burch Rosher died seised within and holden of the manor, viz. an undivided moiety of and in (a), described here as formerly in the occupation of SW, and (c - f) to which (with other property since sold to the Biggleswade School Board - see (b) above - Jeremiah Burch Rosher was admitted tenant on 30 Apr 1847 as eldest son and heir at law of his mother Sarah Rosher, deceased. Habendum (the steward having granted seisen by the rod) with appurtenances to Jeremiah Lilburn Rosher in customary fee simple etc. (see habendum in first abstract - ‘the several yearly rents’ not being specified here). - Note that Succession Duty has been paid by Jeremiah Lilburn Rosher under the will of Jeremiah Burch Rosher; referring to ‘Register R 1874 407’.
