- Scope and ContentSix boys (5 faces visible) parading along Cardington Road carrying campaign posters with candidate’s portrait photograph (in RN uniform) and 'Vote for Skeffington-Lodge' [Thomas Cecil Skeffington-Lodge, Labour. Born at Pudsey, West Yorkshire, 15 January 1905; MP (Labour) for Bedford; Personal Assistant to the Chairman, Colonial Development Corporation 1950-52; died Brighton, 23 February 1994]; one boy is towing a hand-cart decorated with more posters ('Vote for Skeff'). Immediately behind them is the then St. Mary's Abbey Hotel (RAC sign visible) [at the time was no. 32 Cardington Road]. Bedfordshire Times photograph. July 1945.
