The newspapers and records were catalogued in the order received, no attempt was made to provide a classification scheme to cover all the possible classes of material likely to be encountered. Although the newspaper files have been given detailed reference numbers, a reader wishing to see a copy of a particular paper should order by title and date, e.g. Bedford Record 1924. Microfilm copies must be used whenever possible.
