Scope and Content
Funds of marriage settlement established by V334.
Funds appointed by Mrs. Catherine Jones Burton (subject to own life interest) under Indenture of 1 July 1824, to Augustus John Burton and by him assigned to the trustees of this settlement.
Mrs. Catherine Jones Burton died 1863
Property in settlement of 1 July 1824 and liable to provide said £5,000 was insufficient, only £1,082.5s.10d. received. (Burton versus Loveday, Order 9 December 1864)
£5,000 reduced annuity transferred to trustees by Orlando Orlebar, subject to his life interest therein. He died 30 December 1870.
Settlement contained covenant by Mrs. Helen Maria Burton to settle after acquired property exceeding value of £200 at any one time.
£640.15s.10d. acquired on death of Mrs. Charlotte Robe was only sum received by trustees under said covenant.
