    Sent to Miss H M Cooke, New Bedford Road, Luton. Message reads "MDK I have just filled my newspaper cutting book, and I have got a new one exactly the same. Christmas cards are coming out fast now here. Nearly all the soldiers from the school went to the front last Thursday. With love from Deady." Bedford Grammar School served as Battalion HQ and provided temporary billets during the school holidays. [See also Z1306/12/5/3]
