‘Summary of Road Accidents in Bedfordshire’. Annual volumes, arranged by local government area: boroughs and urban and rural districts. The typescript entries contain columns for time and date, location of accident, vehicles involved (no registration marks given), injury caused (whether serious or slight, sex of people involved, but no names), nature of accident. No indexes. The volumes to 1955 include all motor accidents, even where there was no injury; from 1956 accidents are only listed if injury was involved. Includes returns made by the Road Safety Department, Luton County Borough Force, April 1964 to 1966, then by the County Borough of Luton thereafter. Includes statistical summaries of accidents by each local government area from 1953 on.
