Scope and Content
Regular business includes election of parish officers, passing parish accounts, rates and rating matters, letting of parish property (i.e. Church and Poor Estate), etc. Minutes 1878-1906 are continued from the reverse end of the volume.

1836 Gravel carting for the roads Apprenticeship of Samuel Fisk to Mr.Dawson of Bedford, tailor Church clock to be "put into a good state of repair and a new face added"
1836-6 Church restoration [see also P106/5/2 for main minutes on restoration work and finance]
1837 Bridge to be built over the ford at Hollis's Lane
1838 Labourers renting cottages to be exempted from payment of rates
1839 Affiliation of Barsenns Franks's child
1841 Discharge of loan for fitting up Bedford House of Industry as a Union Workhouse Disputed removal of Elizabeth Bandy and her 3 children from Bedford (St.Cuthbert) to Wilden, and affiliation of children
1844-6 Repairs to Tilwick End road (cost shared with Ravensden parish) and road from Wilden to Colmworth
1853 Sale of gravel pit field and purchase of "a fresh piece of land, containing gravel"
1854-66 Letting gravel carting - sources of gravel, costs, and intended use specified, and contractors named
1854 Gravel pit land let to Thomas Cope - lease later renewed in 1859 for a further 5 years
1855 Sale of five cottages and 14p. of land at east end of Wilden - the Poor houses
1856 Appeal against removal order for George Daniel and his 6 children from Surrey to Wilden
1857 Poll for election of churchwarden
1858 New bridge to be built over the brook for £34
1859 Removal of earth on north side of church
1860-1 Rating of new house occupied by Mrs. Chalk near Home Farm, and reduction of rates paid by Mr. Letts in consequence of house being built there
1863 Mr. Paine of Felmersham to be paid one guinea "for a copy of Wilden quality book"
1865 Rebuilding wooden bridge over the brook at the Pound Green
1877 Objection to proposed basis for the County Rate
1878 Minutes continue from reverse end towards the centre of the volume
1887 Objection to proposed basis for County rates
1888 New assessment of farm property in Wilden (including sporting rights) to be made
1890 Rating on unoccupied cottages
1900 Church expenses to be met by offertories, and balance of income from Church Estate to be set aside for church repairs "in accordance with the original intention of the donors"
1901-3 Restoration of church (including re-roofing in pitch pine) according to plans and specifications of Messrs. Mallows & Grocock, architects, at a total cost of £547
1904 New table of fees
