    Regular business includes cleaning, washing surplice, purchase of communion bread and wine, visitation fees and expenses, ringers, minor repairs to church fabric and fittings, upkeep and maintenance of Town Clock, parish land and property (repairs etc.), with occasional Vestry minutes re election of officers etc., but most entries are brief. Occasional business includes: 1837-8 Minutes re grant of £140 from Incorporated Society for the Building of Churches and interest-free loan of £80 from the Duke of Bedford (repaid in 1848) for re-flooring, glazing, and re-pewing the church in 1837, with subscription list and accounts. William Railton, architect. John Green, contractor 1837 Repairs to clock by Mr. Clare (£6 6s.) 1837-48 Repayment of loan to the Duke of Bedford Also includes (at front) stationer's trade plate of W. White, printer and bookseller etc., Bedford, c.1837 (Among entries) annual Vestry minutes concerning the election of Churchwardens, and signing of accounts by Rector and Churchwardens (At back) accounts of the Widows' Charity (income and expenditure, including distribution lists) with a few loose bills 1846 - 1867
