Letter from George Head of Oxford Road, Macclesfield Cannot comply with request. Silk trade in Macclesfield now worse than in /25 about 2/3 of the throwing department is quite standing, I have been standing now for many weeks, two sons have got situations in Warwickshire and part of their wages is what the rest of the family have to live upon. Between 2 and 3000 weavers out of employment. Wants to get youngest son situation as a clerk or bookeeper. George was left a widower with 3 small children and they live with me.
