    (1) Mr. Fred Moore born in Dunstable in 1913 recalling market days, changing pattern of shops and shopping such as the rise of the multiple chains. (2) Mr. Clifford Evans born in Knighton, Radnorshire in 1922, remembering Flemon’s Herb Factory in Luton. His late wife Dulcie was Percy Flemon’s daughter and worked as the firm’s secretary. Details include the history of the firm, the varieties of herbs used, description of the manufacturing processes and the marketing of the products. (3) Mary Owen born in Dunstable in 1921 recollecting The Whiting Industry, her father Arthur Rollings, was the proprietor of J. Rollings & Son, Whiting Manufacturer. Details include the uses for whiting, history of the Rollings Works, list of local firms, description of the manufacturing processes, chalk dust pollution, Cogswell Works chalkpit tramway. (4) Mr. Eric Startup born in Totternhoe in 1931 recalling J.Harrison Carter Engineering Works, where he began as an apprentice in 1945 before joining the RAF in 1951. Details include range of products, high engineering standards of the firm, home and export markets, Cecil May the Managing Director, staff, description of the works, description of foundry techniques, and the closing of the works in 1954.
