- Scope and ContentDr Lewes attended every day of the Hanratty trial apart from the first day and the last day. His motivation was to observe British justice in operation. He was concerned by what he observed and wrote a paper for one of his daughters about the trial. He became involved in the campaign for a reprieve and later for a posthumous pardon.
