    Borough of Luton; Harry Sharp(e) of 70 Biscot Road Luton as Principal acknowledges himself to owe to our Sovereign Lord the King the sum of £30. to be levied on goods, lands & tenements, if he the siad Principal fail in the condition hereon indorsed Taken before me 19th April 1919 Sogned; Edwin Oakley, Justivce of the Peace. Condition; of the with-in written Recognizance is such that the Prinipal shall appear at the next General Quarter Sessions of the Peace to be holden at the Shire Hall Bedford & there enter & prosecute an Appeal against an order of Summary Jurisdiction sitting at the Magistrates Court Luton on 5th April 1919 where the principal was adjudged to be the putative father of a bastard child, of which Beatrice Plummer had been delivered. He was ordered to pay 6 shillings & 6 pence per week for the child until it attained the age of 14 years & the expences incidental to the birth of the chld of £1, 9 shillings 6 pence & for the cost incurred in obtaining this order
