  • Scope and Content
Rex v. Williams Dear Sir, I am enclosing you 4 copies of the notice of appeal in respect of Leonard Williams against convictions from the Luton Borough Court last Saturday. Three of these being under the Gaming & Betting Acts are for the next Quarter Sessions, namely next week. The other for receiving a stolen fowl come under "not less than 15 days" & therefore in the usual way could not be heard at the ensuing Sessions. The Town Clerk representing the Mgistrates is willing & anxious to waive this point, if it can be done, to have all the appeals heard at the ensuing Sessions. Coan you do this? If there is some obstacle, can the appeals in the gaming & betting be called on and adjourned to the following sessions? As it is palpable that it would be better for all to be heard at the same time, if you can arrange this for me I shall be obliged. Yours faithfully H W Lathom
