Scope and Content
The will states that James Howes, after funeral and other expenses, gives all of his real estate in Maulden to his wife, Sarah. Then, immediately after her death, the property is to be sold and the proceeds equally distributed among his three children: James, William and Sarah.
Executors: James Howes (son) and Sarah Howes (daughter)
Witnesses: Stephen Stimpson, James Higgs and Brice Stimpson
Will signed and sealed.
Will dated: 5th October 1829.
Testator died: 26th June 1849.
Probate:
Richard Smith (M.A. Official of Bedford) makes known that on the 31st December 1850 before William Henry Greene (clerk), the will of James Howes was proved approved and registered. All property was given to Sarah Abbis (formerly Sarah Howes, executor) who swore to administer the will and provide an inventory of the distribution of goods by the 31st January 1851.
