  • Scope and Content
January 7th 1904 The clerk to the Peace for Bedfordshire. Dear Sir My partnership with Miss Morton is to be dissolved on the February 15th as her health is too much broken for her to continue in the responsible position of Resident Licensee of this house. I have engaged as Lady Superintendent a Miss Mary Bellers who was trained [have] for four years from 1890 to 1894 and has since then been Lady Superintendent Ticehurst House, East Sussex, among the three best private Asylums in the world. She is thus well qualified for the post of Resident Licensee here. I enclose a formal application from Miss Norton for the transfer of the Licence so far as it relates to her and in coming post you will receive also a formal application from Miss Bellers. I shall be glad to provide any further information the Justices may require and propose to be in attendance at the ensuing Quarter Sessions. I am - Dear Sir your obedient Servant. David Bower.
