- TitleLetter from Henrietta Ann Matthews to her brother, Thomas J Hooper. Sent from 67 High Street. Reminds that interest due 10th of this month. Has Hooper been able to get more rent from Moreton? “I am sorry to say we have not yet found a place for Tom [son Benjamin Thomas Matthews], but John says he behaves very steadily and is now spending the money he had saved while at Burton’s. Mr Graham hopes he has at last found me a tenant for the Bonded Stores but the agreement is not signed. I say he (the tenant) should find his own sureties as I should not like you and Mr Kerslake to be asked for a man we know nothing about, he is to pay quarterly (not in advance) and the rent £30 per annum.”
