  • Scope and Content
Hopes will soon receive amounts owing. “…Can you tell me when it is likely that we shall leave here, and may we take away any apple or greengage trees, Our hayricks are thatched and the wheat is to be hawled on Monday if it keeps fine and soon after thrashed by machine and then Mr Winter will sell it as soon as he can; he was here last evening arranging it with Mr Evans and James. Willie [son] says he is going on well, when I called on Wednesday he was having his dinner bread & butter and coffee. Mrs J Stone sent me a letter from Mrs Greenaway to John Stone saying Mr Soward could not assist in the Bancroft school. I have written to several towns in Suffolk to find if they are reasonable places to live at and when I hear will let you have the replies. Did you keep the key of the iron box that was at the Bank for I have not it? Cordy has not yet got the tow papers properly signed although Mr Winter & I call almost every time we go to town and he wants us to have the rooms papered but as he does not hurry himself I do not say much to Mr Winter about it. With best love and hoping dear Carrie is all right again.”
