Title
Examinations and depositions: Information of Wm. Atkins, aged 8, son of Jn. Atkins of Houghton Conquest. He saw 6 soldiers 'in blue jackets' ride up to Mr Seabrook's Public House and put their horses in the yard; four under a hovel and tying two to a gate. Two other little boys, Thos. Elmer and Hen. Traveller, were also there. Wm. Betterson, Jas, Redman and Jas. Grummit came into the yard but Wm. Batterson went staight out again. Jas. Grummit went to one of the horses then put his hand up his smock and went out of the yard and 'down Duck End'. Two of the soldiers came out of the house and asked him, Atkins, if he knew who had taken their pistols. He said he thought it might be Jas. Grummit and they asked him to fetch him. He went to Grummit's house but he was not there and so he went on to school. Jas. Redman also went up to the horses but afterwards went into the house.
