He saw William Grainger and Thomas Jones in the churchyard at Cranfield hiding a parcel by covering it with grass. On going to the place, he found it contained various types of gloves and a shoe. It was owned in the New George by Charles Hanley. William Jennings went after the men and found them with two sailors, William Jones late of the ‘Creole’ frigate and John Mcgaily, late of a trading ship from Yarmouth. He brought them all back and handed them to the constable. See also QSR1816/218 & 219.
