  • Scope and Content
Dear Mama, I am sorry that I did not get a letter from the Cars [Commer Cars] to bring back with me for I might have been getting my discharge in a month or so if I had. Should Louis find that they are in no hurry to procure my release which is very simply done, I will write to Stan, asking him to get ‘Old Bob’ to apply for me, but I would rather get to the Cars [Commer Cars]. I hope Louis got my letter of Sunday last. Your letter enclosing Steve Mann’s arrived on Monday and I was very pleased to hear from you. I wrote to Steve on Sunday and your letter must have crossed mine. Did you read it? He is not yet discharged, but is still living at home. I received a letter from Syd today in which he informed me that Reggie is home on 28 days leave pending discharge. Reggie is what the Army terms ‘Jammy’. Still, never mind, if only I can get a written application, endorsed by the local advisory committee I will not be very long. Love to all Yours lovingly Cyril
