- Scope and ContentDear Mama, Last night I had occasion to go to town for a bath and a haircut. Coming out of the barber’s I found I had some time to wait for my bath so I wandered up the main, indeed the only, street. Pausing before a jeweller’s window, a soldier coming from the opposite direction attracted my attention by leaning across the window in front of me and I gasped in surprise, for it was Cyril Abrahams. We had a splendid talk, and arranged to meet on Sunday. On Monday he is going (or coming) home for his twelve days. It was splendid to meet a real friend, the first intimate chum I have met since I left home. Good-by Mama dear I am Yours lovingly Cyril
