  • Scope and Content
Dear Mama, I am sending some photographs with this letter; they might be much worse for 12/6 a dozen mightn’t they? But from my view of myself in small looking glasses, they are rather flattering. There was a bad accident here this morning caused by some bombs which had been laid in a ‘tin’ helmet exploding, severely wounding some 8 men. It was a very rare occurrence and I was miles away from it. Peace hangs about like the sun, obscured by the breaking clouds of [war] ever and anon reforming themselves into a lowering bank, threatening further storms; but the sun is at last in partial [view] and we can see its rays. Two of the photos are for you, one each for Louis and Maud (they can both have more if they wish it?) and one for Aunt Jane. I have no time to write more now as I must pack them. I am Yours lovingly Cyril
