    ---To son in law, James Kidman, Porters End, Kimpton, Herts and to friend, William Howe, Hammonds End, Harpenden ---- Nine cottages in Shakers (Stakers) Lane, orchard in occupation of Mrs Healey, meadow in occupation of Mr Fuller, in Harpenden, and all other freehold estate (except messuage in occupation of myself, Mr Hanscombe, - Marriott and Phil Boys which I have already appointed in favour of James Kidman and Mary Ann Eliot, his wife on trust for sale trustees also to sell copyhold estate (except a small piece enclosed in garden which is given to James and M A Kidman) money received to be considered as personal estate, to make one fund with personal estate executors to transfer £2000 (part of £4000 3% annunities) ---To son Oscar John Lines like sum ---To son Fred William Lines If not sufficient annuities at her death, then executors to purchase so many from personal estate to enable them to make such transfer ---To daughter Mary Ann Eliot Kidman ----wearing apparel, books, jewellry, pictures (exceptions of Abr and Hagar) etc ---To said executors ----£3000 3% annunities, 5 shares in the the GN Railway Co, pictures of Abr and Hagar, household linen, furniture, plate and all personal estate, to turn it into money and invest £2000 in names of trustees in public stocks or similar upon trust to pay interest to said daughter M A E Kidman for life, for her separate use and after her death, as she shall appoint by will. Otherwise to such persons as under the statute for the distribution of personal estate of intestates would be entitled to such money etc. --- To Martha Lines, widow of late son Albert ---- £500 ---To each of grandchildren living at my decease ---- £2 for a ring or a memorial --- To servant Lucy Sharpe, if living with me at my decease £19 19. James Kidman and William Howe appointed executors To receive £50 --- To three children, Oscar John, Frederick William, M A E Kidman ----1/3 part each of residue of personal estate.
