- Scope and ContentDear Mama I am getting on as well as can be expected, indeed I Suppose, much better than you expect. Please don’t give up hoping and worry a lot, there will be plenty of time for that later and then then I shall feel much easier if you don’t take it so hard. Most of the Non-Commissioned Officers are jolly decent, and nearly everybody is thoroughly fed up with the war. Apart from a few real war dogs. I have heard many express sympathy and admiration for two Commanding Officers down here who have just served two years and received two more, in consequence of their refusal to obey orders. One can get into Felixstowe without a pass, although few trouble to go at night, as it is a rush to get ready, but it is very nice during the weekend. I have written to Louis by the same post. I have received letters from Syd and Steve Mann so I am not doing so badly. Felixstowe is rather a pretty place with some beautiful Rockeries along the front. On second thoughts I will enclose Louis’s letter in this envelope and save the stamp money, but – well never mind. Please give my love to Papa and tell him I will write to him and thank him for all he has done in writing to these people. I am Yours lovingly Cyril
