Has also seen the stamped guarantee from W R Matthews for Spiller & Co to supply Bixby with goods to the value of £100. Bixby's name does not appear at all on Spiller's books, it is all to Matthews' name. Writer supposes it had better be paid.

- Scope and ContentReference to Mr Cartwright paying for his land, £2 should be added for seeds etc. There have been fearful rows during the election and 2 persons killed in Newport. Ruffians drove the police into one of the rooms in the Town Hall and pelted them with rubbish and filth. Every known 'blue' house had their windows smashed.
