- Scope and ContentDear Mama, I received the writing pad this morning, and am very anxious at the entire absence of all news from home; worried as well because it seems to be Louis’s handwriting on the pad. I hope you are not making yourself ill; it seems very like conceit to me to think that I could upset you to such an extent, but then I know what you are like. I really do not feel like writing much until I hear from you or Kathie. You must not look too much on the black side of things. I went into Felixstowe yesterday and was pleasantly surprised with the place. Please write for you will surely agree that I have kept my promise. Hoping nothing is wrong. I am your loving son, Cyril
