- Scope and ContentDear Mama, My arm is much better to-day and this morning I was sent to see the Commanding Officer who is Lord Ampthill when at home. He held forth upon the inestimable glory of belonging to the Beds Regt and I could have appreciated them had I been in his position and of his age. I am going to fight for his country, where I once went on a Sunday school outing. I am going into Felixstowe this afternoon to look around. Please write to me. I am certainly not filling out here, for the Commanding Officer remarked to the Captain that I did not look ‘very strong, very robust’ and wished to know if I had been ill. I have certainly got into one of the best huts in the camp. I will write tomorrow. I am. Your loving son Cyril
