- Scope and ContentDear Mama I have heard nothing yet, but I think that they are getting fed up with me here. I stayed in the barracks all day yesterday and read and wrote. Young Mann went out with his peoples last night and did not come in until eleven. I shall be an excellent grammarian before I return to civilian life, but I must obtain a French book, also, either Weekly’s or Hugo’s. I can tell you very little now and my hopes for the health of all etc, are I trust understood. Please remember me to Louis and thank him for all he has done for me and to Papa. I am Your loving son Cyril
