  • Title
Letter from R.C. Slade & Son to T J Hooper. Regarding the writs to be served on Mr Williams and R Gould. Williams sent £10 today. Writer thinks it best to take the remainder of the debt and costs at £10 per month, as it would be difficult to prove the debt, the account having gone on for years with no settlement, only money being paid on account. Gould says Hooper holds a mortgage on his house for £100 [see HF90/3/2d/1]. He disputes the account and has a counter account for boards and timber supplied amounting to about the same amount. Gould says he was visited by Mr Partridge who took particulars of the account and was to write to Hooper as to the advisability of taking up the first mortgage and taking the house altogether. Writer wishes to know if he shold take and further action.
