Sent from Dock Street, Newport. “Dear Uncle, Enclosed please find copy of the reply I received from Samuel Dewdney Esq of Birkham, [[HF90/3/2d/7/23] in reply to my letter asking him if Down was still in his employ &c. You might write to his wife if you thought proper enclosing the letter to Dewdney, & apologizing to him, for giving him so much trouble, then I have no doubt if you expressed the wish he would see that Mrs Down receivevd the letter, would you ask her to find the correspondence of her husband & Carr or part of it.
