    ‘I think it a good thing I did not remove the goods as it would of caused me a great deal of trouble. I bought as it were the whole stock with the exception of the fixtures and counter for £32 odd, but she was not willing for me to move until she had enquired of solicitor, if she would be getting herself into any trouble, so I went with her, and she declared to him that she had not sold it so I left the affair in the hands of her solicitor and went direct to another which gave me his advice gratis, said my loss was sufficient my solicitor told me that if I had moved the goods it would of cause me a good deal of trouble, has the other creditors would be sure to declare her a bankrupt and would cause my to go to Bristol several times and give me a great deal of trouble. If I can get in the debts out now pretty well you can rely I shall not get into these difficulties again, did you receive a bill to accept from her from Liverpool.’
