- Date free text18 December 1950
- Production dateFrom: 1950 To: 1953
- Scope and ContentIt was suggested that the Town hall should take charge of the Secretarial work, and the Trustees today resolved that the Town Clerk be invited to appoint a Secretary to the Municipal Charities. If you think this desirable and would kindly send me a name, I will send the correspondence, Minute Book and Deed Box to the Town Hall for safe keeping. Regarding: Honeylove Pyghtle. Messrs Stafford, Rogers and Merry. I understand that the 21 Years lease of this ground falls in September, 1953, the present Rental being £137. 10s. Also the lease of the Pig Market from the Corporation expires in 1956. It has been suggested that the Trustees should renew the lease of Honeylove Pyghtle for 16 ½ years so that the Leases of both parts of the Market are coterminous. The trustees thought that they ought to have a Valuer to give an opinion as to the amount that the new Lease should be and I think they would be quite content to renew this lease for 16 ½ years at a proper Rental. I do not myself anticipate that the Rent would be less than £200.00 per annum.
