i) Richard Norton, Mitcham, Surrey, esquire, brother and heir of John Norton late of Mitcham, Surrey, esquire, deceased, who was son and heir of Richard Norton late of Mitcham, Surrey, esquire, deceased
ii) Richard Bowater senior, citizen and mercer of London, surviving overseer of last will and testament of Richard Norton the father
iii) Richard Lawrence, citizen and apothecary of London, and wife Dorothy, a daughter of Richard Norton the father, deceased
iv) James Kettleby, Staple Hall, Neen Savage, Shropshire, esquire, and wife Katherine, another daughter of Richard Norton the father
v) Edward Mellish, Badbury, Wiltshire, esquire
reciting will of Richard Norton the father 10 August 1686 [see C169] by which he left to John Norton the following property, charged with the payment to Mary Norton, one of the testator's daughters, lately deceased, and to Katherine Kettleby £500 each at ages 21, and in case either died then her £500 to daughter Dorothy Lawrence
... all his manors, messuages and lands within the towns and parishes of Barton, Sharpenhoe, Streatley, Farley, Luton, Whipperly, Bedford and Westoning, after the decease of Anne, his then wife
but if John Norton did not pay the legacies, then wife Anne, and Richard Bowater and Bezaliell [Bezabeel in C169] Sherman of London, merchant, a son-in-law, the overseers of his will, should sell so much of the reversion of the estate as would satisfy the bequests to daughters
and reciting deaths of Richard Norton the father, Anne Norton, John Norton, Bezaliell Sherman and Mary Norton (the last named dying 26 August 1694 aged 20 years 2 months, by whose death Richard Lawrence in right of wife Dorothy became entitled to her £500 with £83 for interest) and that Katherine came of age 20 April 1697, and the legacies have not yet been paid
