Miss [Harriot] Wrottesley is to be married to Colonel [William] Gardiner [married 9 Jan 1779]. Miss Ravenscroft married and has been abroad, but recently returned to London - the writer has enjoyed renewing the acquaintance. She is six months with child. Sir John Sebright wrote to inform that his wife [Sarah] was taken to bed of a daughter [Mary Ann Saunders Sebright, baptised Jan 1779 Flamstead, Hertfordshire]. Birth of Marie Thérèse of France. 'The crowd pressed eve into her bedchamber ... and cruelly fed[?] her with a noise and violence very unbecoming the occasion that is was only a daughter'
