    'Bedford Promenade in the Great Flood of April 30th 1908. 9' The view shows moored boats on the river bank. The water level has risen high enough to push the boats onto the promenade path.     Card sent to 'Miss F.E. Whiting, Derby'. The message includes 'Do you recognise the place on the P.C.C It is Chetham's landing stage during flood. There was so much water that the drains overflowed in Mid[land] Rd. & flooded the street for some distance near [?]'.
