Glad to read good account of himself & Mrs Whitbread & family. Wants much to wait on him when at Southill disengaged, convenient & settled there. Has an engagement to meet Mr Baker & Mr Gough on agreement for Tring Grove. Since warm weather came has gained strength in ankle & is far from Gout, but is most horribly deaf so as at times disagreeable in company, but what can old man of 68 expect.
