  • Scope and Content
In few days shall pay off mortgage created by father on Bledlow Estate at the time he made purchase of Southill. Has had application through the Bursar of Eton College for purchase of Estate. Convenient & advantageous if could accept that proposal because has acquired an Estate of same value in Parish of Southill which he is desirous of conveying to the Trust, & Bledlow being quite detatched from all the property he possesses, is of small comparative value to him or his successors. As Estate is charged together with Estate at Walham Green with payment of Annuity of £400 per year, it will not be in his power to do as WH wishes unless confidence sufficient in him to return the Estate from his claim & to take personal security in aid of the Estate at Welham Green for Annuity. Ventures to suggest it from most perfect knowledge & in fullest confidence that WH could not suffer from the change. At same time it is what he has as title to ask. Should WH feel least repugnance to it trusts he will refuse & desires he will not communicate what was proposed. Will recollect that Father's Will gives him power, with consent of Trustees to dispose of property out of Bedfordshire & Essex for purpose of purchasing other lands.
